Our client had recently left his hourly wage position in Quincy, Massachusetts. Our client believed that he had not been paid all the overtime wages that he was due, and that the employer owed approximately $1,400.00.
Attorney Alexander Conley represented our client. After discussing the matter, Attorney Conley advised our client that the employer violated a number of federal and Massachusetts wage laws:
- Failure to pay overtime wages;
- Failure to provide suitable pay stubs;
- Failure to timely pay our client's final paycheck; and
- Misclassifying our client as an independent contractor.
Attorney Conley proceeded to communicate with the employer regarding these violations. Within 30 days of the initial communication, the employer agreed to pay $9,480.68 more than six times the amount that our client initially believed was owed.
